Studio 14 – Resonance
Studio 14 this year considered the future of Brighton’s ‘Kings Place Theatre’ city centre carpark and the possibilities of replacing its multi-story concrete structure with design proposals that might empower wider, more diverse, public engagement in the creative, environmental, and social arts. Our provisional title for the project, Resonance: Voices and Visions, gathered inspiration from the word ‘resonance’, which may be defined as the power to evoke enduring images, memories, and emotions…
Studio 14 pursues architecture as a practical art that is imaginative, thought provoking and potentially magical. We encourage our students to develop relevant, purposeful, design work that takes a holistic long-term approach towards imagining the future.
