This was a project looking at ways of recycling 3D printer waste. I identified that there was a waste stream resulting from 3D printing and contacted a local company to collect their waste and intercept that stream. The result was a process of melting down the waste plastic using a sandwich toaster and I then performed various tests on this sheet. One of the uses I found for this new sheet was to turn it into fins for my homemade surfboard.
This project was to explore a technology and its potential applications: I chose to explore the possibilities of 3D printing when combined with composites moulding. The demonstration of my exploration of this technology was this camera arm made of 3D printed brackets and bolts and carbon fibre tubes.
This was a project looking at improving the Impact of mountain biking on the world with a focus on people, planet and profit. One of the main areas that I identified was people finding mountain bikers intimidating and that leading to fear and animosity. The final result was a biodegradable helmet cover that can be home-made and makes you appear less threatening whilst riding on the trails.
