L O N E L I N E S S may seem desperate but solitude is beautiful.
My project works in layers, from urban landscaping to modules and ‘healing pods’. This project follows the theme of loneliness, using my own personal experience in care homes/hospital work, and primary local surveys with the attitude of architecture for the people.
Throughout the project biophilia, garden cities and circular economy (sustainability) are incorporated into the design.
Please turn on sound for a jazzy experience and an introduction to my hospital site.
This concept proposes an intervention to loneliness through inside and outside spaces- rhythm, biophilia and lighting. By exposure and architectural features, a library considered as a quiet place is actually some parts loud. e.g. the top platform hides from the main feature, however, the river can be accessed in the social spaces. The exposure of a delicate activity may remind us the relationship between worker and customer –>worker and patient, that there are moments we forget when we are surrounded by our own problems, especially at the hospital.
